Play Corki as auto, rocket, auto: current Corki’s missiles are the thread between autos, not a replacement for them, so his damage feels real only when you stay close enough for the E strip and the auto string to keep running
Corki’s lane windows are often fake unless the target is already stuck in front of him, which is why mains keep describing level 3 and support-started fights as the real pattern: if Q or E already went into the wave, the all-in is worse, but once CC lands he can W-Q-E and stay glued
Corki can live through a crooked lane, but he is not late-game autopilot; deeper early deficits punish him hard, and long even games are less comfortable for him than for Jinx, Smolder, or Xayah in the recent window
If your support cannot start for you, shrink the lane down to shorter windows instead of trying to fake an all-in yourself. Keep enough mana that a real mistake can still be punished, use rockets to hold contact between autos, and only step into full E range when the enemy is already committed to a trade, trapped on the wave, or slowed enough that you can stay attached without spending W first. In those lanes, W matters even more as the spell that keeps the string going after they try to leave. You are waiting for a sticky moment, not forcing one from neutral every wave.
A percentage of Corki's basic attack damage is dealt as bonus true damage.

Corki fires a missile toward his target location that explodes on impact, dealing damage to enemies in an area. Corki stores missiles over time, up to a maximum. Every 3rd missile fired will be a Big One, dealing extra damage.
